Defining E-Mail and Text Notifications of Alarms


To configure e-mail and text message notifications, select "Email Setup" from the "Configure" drop-down menu. The display shown below will be displayed:

There are two quasi-independent definitions to be setup on this screen.

For each alarm action that is to use e-mail / text notifications, the following must be specified
  • An SMTP server address
  • A sender address
  • Authentication credentials (if required)
  • SMTP port
  • Delivery protocol must be specified, as well as a descriptive label.


  • For each person to whom e-mail alarms are to be delivered, the following must be specified
  • A description, email or cell phone number (and appropriate provider)
  • Enter the desired alarm criteria
  • Alarm actions


  • The figure below shows the dialog with the necessary SMTP information filled in in order to deliver an email alarm for alarm action 1.




    If sending alarms to a cell phone number, some information about the provider must be provided. For example, to send an alarm to phone number 530-277-4476 using provider Verizon, the address should be 5302774476@vtext.com.
