Defining RWIS Stations Using the NTCIP Protocol
RWIS Stations communicating using the NTCIP protocol must be properly configured in order for
DataWise® to interrogate the station, request sensor data, process the retrieved data and file it in the database. To define an RWIS station, select "Stations" and then "RWIS" from the "Configure" drop-down menu. A new tab will be presented with the dialog shown in the display below:

To add a station,
Enter an arbitrary, unique to DataWise® , station number into the "Station Number" edit field. .
Enter a descriptive name.
Enter the number of seconds that an interrogation request should wait before timing out.
Enter the method of communication with the station, either by com port or IP address.
Select one of the previously defined sensors to add to the station.
Select the NTCIP OID (Object Identifier) to associate with the selected sensor. OID's can be searched for by the number or name.
Click the Add button.
To delete a station, select the station to delete and click the "Delete Station" button.
Note that any defined station can be interrogated from this interface by selecting it clicking on the "Interrogate" button.
