Starting the DataWise® Data Acquisition Software

As stated previously, the DataWise® software is a suite of compiled C, C++, and Fortran programs, along with the scripting language Php spplications.

Under Windows, these programs run cooperatively as a service, managed by the application named systemrunning.exe which resides in the \DataWise\Core directory.

Once DataWise® has been installed, a service named DataWiseCopy1 will have been created with a startup type of "manual".

Start the service from the Windows Services User-Interface.

Set the startup type to be automatic.

Starting and stopping DataWise® can be performed from the Windows Service API or from the DataWise® user interface provided the user is logged in with administrative rights.

If multiple copies of DataWise® are to be run, they should be installed using a unique "copy=nn" parameter. The services created will then be name DataWiseCopynn.
